Millie Dobrosavljevic loves that in his job, every day is different.
One day he will be on a site inspection and the next he will be designing and fabricating a new element that the team needs to complete a job.
“I can make basically anything the team needs. Every job is different and sometimes you have to make something to suit the job – it’s not always the same thing. If they need a bracket to mount or anchor the job, I’ll come up with a design, draw it up, get it approved and away I go to make it.”
Millie started working at SVSR in the late 1990s.
He left for eight years and came back in 2017, bringing with him new skills and experience to apply to work that he was already so familiar with.
Aside from the work, he loves the team he works with.
“Everyone is friendly… I have worked with most of them for many years… everyone looks out for each other.”
As a fitter machinist by trade, Millie is a highly experienced member of the team. He holds his crane ticket, dogman ticket, elevated platform ticket and scaffolding ticket… not to mention the years of on-the-job experience that you just can’t teach.
Millie calls himself a ‘backyard mechanic’, often working on restoring cars. And that’s how he likes to spend his spare time. The last car he worked on was an HQ ute with a big engine in it.
“I did everything on it: rebuilt the motor, put every nut and bolt in, repainted it and basically did the whole car from scratch.”
It’s that kind of attention to detail that we love having in our team.
While we’ve long specialised in leading sewer vent solutions for regional councils in New South Wales and Victoria, sewer vents aren’t our only service. Chris Antoun, SVSR Operations & Compliance Manager, recently oversaw a project for a Townsville sewer pump station, that involved customising our induct vent cowls to meet local council specifications.
