Business Development Manager

As SVSR Business Development Manager, Arthur Togias works across new business acquisition, tenders, quoting and marketing.

“I promote our services at conferences, grow our LinkedIn profile and look after sales behind the scenes. I quote anything as small as a one-off custom metal fabrication to major sewer vent shaft design, fabrication and installation.”

Arthur came to SVSR with a long history in the civil construction sector, initially starting as a sales representative in a sand quarry, moving up to sales manager and then working across several major quarries.

“I’d been in the quarry industry for over 30 years. I was in operations in various sand quarries and concrete plants, and with that background you have a lot of civil clientele.

I had a change of scene for a while operating my own major sign franchise, and then I became a business consultant for other franchises.”

Now with SVSR, Arthur has a solid foundation from which to grow the business.

“What I really noticed when I joined SVSR was the teamwork. It’s a good mix of people and everyone works together well. I might need to ask advice from other team members for specific quotes, and Millie for example will help profile the drawings. The guys in the factory work really hard. Everyone pitches in and works together to get our jobs over the line.

I researched SVSR before joining and found a company with a lot of experience and a good name in the industry. We’ve been working with Sydney Water for over 30 years. We’re in a period of growth now, which is exciting. I’ve joined to help grow SVSR to the next level – which is exactly where it deserves to be.”

What Arthur enjoys most about his role is being on the front line and liaising with customers.

“I do like talking to people and what I’ve found is that once I have a customer, they’re a customer for life, even when I’ve changed companies. I’ve had customers for 30 years and now they’ve become good friends.

I’ve been doing this for a long time. I’m passionate about sales, and I really enjoy helping clients. When I see a customer smile, that’s a great result… especially when we over deliver.”
