About the Ferrycarrig project
Ferrycarrig is a major infrastructure contractor, having contributed to landmark city projects, including Sydney Light Rail, Sydney Metro, Western Sydney Airport and the New Sydney Fish Markets.
Malachy contracted SVSR after a recommendation from a colleague who had previously worked with us on a sewer vent cowl design and fabrication project.
As part of the recent project, Ferrycarrig contracted SVSR to install 20 sewer vent shafts at St Marys in Sydney’s West. We additionally installed four sewer vents in Tahmoor for a separate project.
“We had to upgrade two existing sewer lines that run from St Marys water treatment plant to Quakers Hill water treatment plant,” explains Malachy. “We needed SVSR to install air valves at 58 locations. The majority were manual and there were 20 automatic ones with sewer vent shaft installations.”
Efficient project delivery
The locations were spread over a 12km stretch between treatment plants. From start to finish, the sewer vent installation took a week. Malachy found the SVSR team to be knowledgeable and very efficient.
“They were very good. They knew the locations so they just took the drawings and away they went. I had an engineer with them each morning to make sure they knew where they were going, but they were very good. They knew exactly what they were doing.
SVSR also sorted all of the permits and compliance elements. All their paperwork was in order and good all round. There were no issues whatsoever.”
