Our cutting-edge designs are not only of exceptional quality but also meticulously tailored to their intended purpose. Our remarkable sewer vent solutions cater to an extensive clientele, including Sydney Water, regional councils, engineering endeavours, pump stations, and significant commercial partners.

High quality, compliant sewer vent shaft cowls

SVSR stands as the authority in wastewater infrastructure, excelling in the production of tailored sewer vent cowls and pioneering ingenious remedies for intricate undertakings. Our vent cowls span a comprehensive range from DN150 to DN225/DN250 and DN300. Equipped with stainless steel shafts and sealed stainless steel bearings, our induct and educt cowls effectively mitigate harm from corrosive sewer gases, simultaneously reducing maintenance expenses for your added advantage.

Educt cowls

Educt sewer vent cowls can have custom sleeves fitted, depending on the vent shaft ID requirement.

Wire sewer vent cowls (passive)

When confronted with constrained access for continuous upkeep, such as within a residential backyard, the optimal choice entails a wire vent pipe cowl, often referred to as a “bird cage.” This style of sewer vent cowl is passive and non-directional, demanding only minimal maintenance.

Wire Vent Cowls

We manufacture our wire vent shafts cowls to the following specifications:

  • Material: Stainless steel

Rotating educt sewer vent cowls (active)

In order to maximise the extraction of corrosive and odorous gases from sewer lines and maintenance holes, rotating sewer vent cowls create a vacuum through their ‘whirly bird’ design.

These are active cowls designed for areas where septicity and odour issues are common e.g. pump station wet wells and rising main discharge maintenance holes. They feature UV stability to withstand the elements.

SVSR rotating educt vent pipe cowls are manufactured to the following specifications:

Rotating educt vent cowls (active)
  • Materials: Turbine & flue – aluminium grade 5005 H34
  • Bearings: Steel NSK BFW30 bearing deflector flange -aluminium grade
  • Rivets: Stainless steel STST grade 302
  • Screws & nuts: 316 stainless steel
  • Shafts & brackets: 316 stainless steel
  • Bearing Holder: Glass filled nylon
  • Finish: Powder coated inside & out with polyester powder
  • Weight: 5kgs
  • Dimensions:
    • Model 150 weight 1.9kg, inner 150mm, outer 580mm

    • Model 300 weight 3.7kg, inner 308mm, outer 850mm
  • Tolerances: size +/- 2mm, weight +/- 0.2kg
  • Sydney Water Drawing No. EPS 700.111

Induct cowls

Induct sewer vent cowls can accommodate a PVC vent line coupling or a Table D flange, depending on site requirements.

Vent shaft mounted rotating induct cowl (active)

This type of sewer vent cowl is fitted with a wind vane to the rear that ensures the cowl spins to face the direction of the wind, forcing wind into the vent. It works by drawing oxygen into the sewer, increasing air-flow, thereby reducing septicity, corrosion and concrete cancer.

Like an educt cowl, it has UV stability to withstand the elements.

Varying sizes of Rotating Induct Cowls

Rotating induct sewer vent shaft cowl specifications:

  • Materials: Bearing deflector flange – aluminium grade
  • Rivets: Stainless steel STST grade
  • Screws & nuts: 316 stainless steel
  • Shafts & brackets: 316 stainless steel
  • Bearing holder: Glass filled nylon
  • Finish: Powder coated inside and out with polyester powder
  • Weight: 5kgs
  • Dimensions:
